We can accept almost anything you no longer want and make good use of it - clothing, furniture, appliances, shoes, glassware... anything. Donations are first screened to see if they can be used in our foster home or to assist the Mothers that we help, if not suitable for either of those projects they are sold in our charity shop.

Our charity shops have established themselves as a community project in their own right. We have been able to create 6 full-time jobs, enabling previously unemployed people to be financially independent. The shop also serves the community, as the vast majority of our customers are coming from low income groups and through the shop are able to afford high-quality items at low prices, as the majority of items have been donated by corporates, individuals, churches and the like. Through the charity shops HHM can fund 100% of the administrative costs (includes office expenses, admin staff salaries, etc.) of the ministry, thereby ensuring that all donations received directly benefit the Babies and need and Mothers in crisis.

We collect – Book a collection on our WhatsApp number: 066 1144 122 or submit a contact form with your Name, phone number, address, items to be collected and time availability – we will phone you to confirm when we will next be in your area to collect.

We are registered on various social websites, please click on icons below to visit our pages. Become activists or ambassadors for us on these sites to assist us in creating awareness and raising funds.

All of our social enterprise activities perform a dual role of generating income for the organisation, but importantly, also uplift the community in a meaningful way - in the form of skills development and job creation. We currently run three charity shops in Melville as well as partner with a wood workshop in Henley.

Our charity shops have established themselves as a community project in their own right. We have been able to create 8 full-time jobs, enabling previously unemployed people to be financially independent.

Many informal traders purchase items at a reduced rate from Hope Charity shop to resell at a profit and we are thrilled to support their small business initiatives. Members of the community coming from low income groups are able to afford high-quality items at low prices, as the majority of items have been donated by corporates, individuals, churches and the like.

Through the charity shops HHM can fund 100% of the administrative costs (includes office expenses, admin staff salaries, etc.) of the ministry, thereby ensuring that all donations received directly benefit the Babies and need and Mothers in crisis.

Donating your quality second hand items to be sold in our shops is therefore a Win-Win-Win. Now there is an incentive to declutter your homes.

2000 children are orphaned or abandoned every year in South Africa. We are eagerly looking for more South African families to adopt children who need a loving and stable home. This is certainly not a decision to be made lightly, but if you are seriously considering adoption, please contact one of our two Child Protection Agencies:

ABBA Adoptions
(012) 343 7721

Please note: Adoptions need to be processed through a statutory social worker with a registered Child Protection Agency. Hotel Hope Ministries are therefore unable to assist directly.

"When we work, we work; but when we pray, God works." - Max Lucado

This quote means so much to us, as we have seen it over and over again. We take time out every Friday at 1pm to come together as an organisation and pray to our Father, our Creator to guide us and provide for us. We keep a diary of the prayer requests and it is an incredible blessing to page through it and see how God continues to answer our prayers and guide us. Please fill in a contact form to request to be added to our weekly prayer requests mail, so that you can grant us the biggest gift by praying for our organisation every week.

Never a nice topic, but a will is something that we all should have. Consider adding us to your beneficiaries in your will. You could even specify that your clothes and other household items be given to us, as we can potentially use them in our foster homes or sell them in our charity shops.

Contact us to be subscribed to our email newsletter and SMS notifications, to be the first to hear about our upcoming events.

We are able to use eBucks to shop at Makro to buy nappies, formula and other items.

If you would like to do so, please fill in a contact form requesting instructions on how to do so.

As we are a small organisation with big ambitions, we are always looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to assist us. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, ranging from office support, data capturing, assisting at events, providing lifts, fundraising, being an aunty or uncle to our children and many more. If you are interested in volunteering please complete the volunteer form and fax it back to us on 011 484 3027.

We run volunteer induction days once a month on a Friday afternoon. Please contact us to find out when the next induction is.

To protect the children in our care and to provide for them as best as possible we have the following requirements that must be met by volunteers before volunteering with Hotel Hope Ministries:

  • Must be over 18 years of age, volunteers between the ages of 16 and 18 may volunteer but must always be accompanied by an adult (i.e. parent, teacher etc.)
  • Complete a volunteer application form and ideally provide your CV
  • Obtain a police clearance certificate which we will request on your behalf. In order for us to do this you will need to provide 3 certified copies of your ID Document, as well as have your fingerprints taken at your nearest police station (you will need to pay approximately R114 at the police station to have them done). These forms, including the proof of payment, needs to be returned to us so that we can submit the request.
  • We will use one of your certified copies of your ID to apply for verification from the Department of Social Development that your name does not appear on the Sexual offenders register
  • Attend a volunteer induction day and informal interview with either Director / House supervisor / Board member

We may not always have capacity for volunteers in your area of interest, but please do stay in regular contact to see what is available at that time.
